"The road is usually busy with vehicles ferrying miraa, vehicles from Nairobi heading to Meru and Garissa use this road," pleaded the resident. "I also got an accident around this spot and I urge the national government to sort out this road because we are heading to the festive period. Residents are now asking the government to step in to put proper signage and mark the road as the festive period nears. "I thought it was milk and asked for a packet before finding out that it was beer which I don't take," explained the eyewitness.
On reaching the scene I saw a group of youth looting from the lorry. "I was on the farm when I heard a loud bang and ran to check what had happened.
One of the residents, who was around the scene of the accident, initially thought the lorry was ferrying milk and was disappointed to find it had bottles of beer. The lorry had covered both sides of the road, rendering it impassible. The accident and the looting melee caused traffic snarl-up along the busy highway.
